Tracing how MSM community organizations, CDC partnerships, peer education, testing, and research infrastructure in mainland China created early public-health entry points for transgender women while compressing gender difference inside a behavioral category, this essay explains the later emergence of transgender-specific data and services through a public-health visibility matrix and a classification-inheritance chain.
